A minor consists of any six 3-point or 4-point courses in Dance. Although there are no distribution requirements for the minor, the Department recommends that a minor course of study reflects the range of course offerings in Dance Studies (History and Theory), Composition, Movement Science, and/or Rehearsal & Performance. Minors are not required to take 1-point studio/technique courses, nor do technique classes count toward the minor.

The FIP includes two New Source Review (NSR) rules for the protection of air quality in Indian country. One of those rules, known as the Tribal Minor NSR Rule, applies to new industrial facilities or modifications at existing industrial facilities with projected emissions that are more than the minor NSR thresholds but less than the major NSR thresholds, which are generally 100 to 250 tons per year (tpy).

b In extreme ozone nonattainment areas, section 182(e)(2) of the Act specifies that any change at a major facility that results in any increase in emissions is subject to permitting. In other words, any changes to existing major facilities in extreme ozone nonattainment areas must comply with a "0" tpy threshold, but that threshold does not apply to minor facilities.

If you have a lot of interests, want to enhance your major or want to focus on a second area of study, a minor might be the way to go. By declaring a minor, you can study things that interest you on a more personal level, broaden your skills and become more diverse. Minors can also give you a leg up on the competition when it comes time to look for a job.

UCLA offers more than 90 minors, many of which you can pair in unexpected ways with majors. For instance, the food studies minor can be a nice complement to majors in chemistry, biology, communication and many more things.

Grounded by a strong commitment to the histories, representations, and political struggles of Indigenous peoples, the intellectual focus of the American Indian Studies minor will use interdisciplinary methods of critical inquiry as a means through which students engage research and scholarship in their major fields of studies.

The minor is open to students from all majors. All minors must be completed with a 2.0 minor GPA. Only 10 credits of courses may count towards both this minor and your major. Please see an advisor for more information.

Declare a minor by completing the Request to Declare/Change a Major or Minor form and submitting it to the Office of the Registrar. You must have earned a minimum of 45 credits and declared a major before declaring a minor. If you have any questions about this process, please see your advisor.

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences offers a formal system of minors, which may be completed in conjunction with any major or curriculum. Minors are optional but can enhance the undergraduate experience.

Students are advised to consult with an advisor in the department offering the minor for information on the courses that will fulfill requirements. Specified courses are listed for each minor in the academic catalog; ordinarily, no course substitutions are allowed. Courses counted for the minor must be taken for a grade. Students are eligible to seek minors in any of the undergraduate colleges as long the prerequisites for the courses have been met.


Students must consult with an admissions/records officer after they have earned 30 hours if they want to declare a minor. Your Statement of Intent to Pursue a Campus-Approved Minor form may be submitted to LAS Student Academic Affairs as soon as 30 hours have been earned and must be submitted no later than 4:30 p.m. of the last day to add classes in the term of your graduation. Verification of the completion of the minor will be posted on your transcript at the time of graduation.
