Author Guidelines

FIRST DRAFT OF CHAPTER DUE: September 17, 2018

Sections to include:

  • Name, job title, institution of all authors
  • Brief summary of chapter (1–2 sentences)
  • Institutional background (Optional; 250 words max)
  • Lesson learned (generalizable lessons to share with readers)
  • Recommended readings (list 2–3 suggestions; add a 1 sentence annotation for each reading)
  • We encourage you to develop additional headings relevant to your chapter

Style and Tone:

  • Chapters should be written in a practical and reflective tone
  • Use 1st person narrative style
  • See sample chapter for tone (note: it doesn’t not follow the section guidelines)

Formatting:

  • Please submit your draft as a .docx file
  • 12 pt. Font, Times New Roman, double spaced, 1 inch margins
  • Referencing should follow the Endnotes-Bibliography format in the Chicago Manual of Style (17th edition)
  • Charts, figures, and tables follow the Chicago Manual of Style 17th edition, Chapter 3 on Illustrations and Tables (pp. 125-170)
  • Chapters should be approximately 2,500–5,000 words in length
