GOVT. GIRLS' P.G. COLLEGE, UJJAIN, located at UJJAIN DISTRICT- 456010 of MADHYA PRADESH State, was established in the year 1958 by the government of Madhya Pradesh. It is affiliated to Vikram University, Ujjain. It is a Post Graduate College with five research centres catering to the education of girls with multi faculty viz., Arts, Science, Commerce and Home Science. It offers around 69 course combinations and 14 Self Financed courses. It has a wide range of student diversity of about 2000 students. It has a Girls’ Hostel “Maitreyi Chhatrawas” accommodating around 70 girls.
The college was among one of the pioneering institutions in the state of Madhya Pradesh going for First Accreditation process from NAAC in the year 2004 earning and “A” Grade. The Second Cycle Reaccreditation was done in the year 2016 by NAAC in which the college earned a score of 3.19 which was the highest in the state and fourth in the nation as per the Seventeenth Steering Committee Meeting of NAAC. The college has been sanctioned Rupees 2 Crores under RUSA and Rs. 11 Crore under MPHEQIP IDP, World Bank Scheme. It has vibrant Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) functional since 2010.
The college spreads in around 25159 sq.m area. It has good infrastructural facilities. It has 31 Classrooms, 19 Laboratories, Three Smart Classrooms, One Auditorium, OneVirtual Class Room, One Language Lab, Girls’ Common Room, Seminar Halls, IT Cell.
Recently Library mamagement system is developad the New software e-granthalaya by NIC. 21 computers with eLibrary registration since 2016. Construction under RUSA and IDP, World Bank Scheme are going to add to the existing physical and IT infrastructure substantially.
