Reinstatement of Department Membership
Any former deputy returning to the department after leaving is subject to the following.
If the deputy returns after leaving the department on good terms their rank shall be restored if possible and they will receive their old callsign.
If the deputy returns to the department after being removed from the department they will restart as a Deputy under the guidance of a probation period.
If the deputy left the server entirely they will also restart as a Deputy.
If a member transfers to another LE department and returns before being promoted in that department, they may on a case-to-case basis have their rank restored and if possible receive their former callsign.
If a member transfers to another LE department and is promoted or picks up assignments they are subject to restarting on the LCSO as a deputy.
With rank comes responsibility. Each promotion from Sergeant up carries an ascending level of authority. As a supervisor, the department has placed a heightened sense of trust in you, and thus you are able to carry out a number of activities without further approval. You are able to lead and command units below you. When you outrank everyone else on a scene, you are the one in charge and take the consequences of the actions of the others on the scene.
As a supervisor, you are granted the authority to perform the following actions against units below you:
Promotion: You may recommend or endorse a unit for promotion.
Demotion: You may recommend that a unit be demoted.
Suspension: You may recommend that a unit be suspended and or removed from the department.
Corrective Action: You may verbally correct a deputy you supervise for wrongdoing.
Note: Promotions, demotions, and suspensions can be recommended but must be approved by an administrative supervisor, Major+.
the LCSO utilizes a punishment system that progresses with the offense in question. Supervisors may recommend punishments based on offenses. Probationary status is assigned at the most basic level if felt warranted.
level 1: Corrective Action.
Level 2: Temporary Suspension and or Demotion.
Level 3: Removal From Department.
Level 4: Removal From Department Without Possibility of Return.
Level 5. Removing Server Membership.
(You don't have to memorize every code, a basic understanding of the common ones is all that is required).
