Liberty99 (Tracey) is an artist who's work revolves around portraiture and figurative subjects. Having completed a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Arts) (Honours), Liberty's research explores how visual impairment informs and influences the her work in portraiture. The research project re-imagines visual impairment as a gift that provides a unique opportunity to see and perceive differently. Using a range of technologies as aids to perception Liberty endeavours to elicit a sense of character in her subjects through layers of pigment and texture, both analogue and digital. Essentially, she aims for an underlying authenticity perceived visually, cognitively, and emotionally within her work.
