Liberty has been designated as a polling site for the March 5th presidential primary elections.
To ensure the safety of our staff and students, our district has safety precautions for voters and poll workers visiting our school sites during elections. These precautions include:
Access to the polling area will be restricted to authorized personnel and voters, with designated entry and exit points.
To prevent overcrowding, we will manage the number of individuals in the polling area at any time.
Adequate signage and personnel will help direct traffic flow and parking to minimize congestion.
Our emergency response plan is in place, and our staff is trained to handle various emergencies.
We will work closely with local law enforcement to address any issues promptly.
Every effort will be made to place poll locations away from school offices, classrooms, and areas where students will be present.
Voting will be available at our school from Saturday, March 2, 2024, through Monday, March 4, 2024, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the polling site will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you have additional questions, please contact the front office.

Hello Liberty Parents and Families!
Like many of you, I am amazed by how quickly our first quarter has passed! In this short time I have learned so much about our school and community. Each day I have the privilege of connecting with our students, staff, parents and families. We truly have an amazing community! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact me directly.
We continue to have many more things in store for our students as we commence Quarter 2.

Dear Families,
As of today, we are halfway through our Apex leadership habits! We learned all about habit #3 in our mission to find the POWER to make the world a better place. Our 3rd lesson is OPTIMISTIC! The Apex Team told us that to be OPTIMISTIC means we’re leaders that are hopeful! It means we’re confident in a positive outcome no matter the situation!. Today, we challenge ourselves by chanting:
“Rain or shine, The choice is mine!”
Hey true leaders are OPTIMISTIC. Check out today's theme video.
*Important note: Pledges must be entered online to count towards our class total, so please be sure to log them at www.myapexevent.com. The best way to get pledges is to send out shares. Thank you for your continued support!

As you may already be aware there have been notifications of extreme weather this weekend. While Hurricane Hillary is expected to be downgraded to a tropical storm by the time it reaches our community, we still have concerns about what the impact may have on our facilities. The District will continue to monitor the storm as it approaches our region and communicate impact to facilities and operations. School will remain open until further notice.
To keep the flow of traffic moving and minimize congestion, please do not park vehicles in the drop off-pick up lane. Please use a designated parking spot if you need to park and drop off/pick up your child.
Please see the attached Power Point presentation from last week's Coffee with the Principal.
Elections will be held for Parent Representatives to the Liberty Elementary School English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) for the 2023/24 school year. ELAC is a committee consisting of teachers, staff members, and parents of students whose first language is not English. It is a meeting place where parents can participate and provide input for programs and services for English Learners.
We have openings for this year’s committee for five parent representatives. Any parent/guardian whose child attends our school is eligible to be an ELAC representative. ELAC meets at least four times a year. If you would like to place your name on the ballot for Parent Representative, please complete the form below along with an explanation why you would like to be a part of the English Learner Advisory Committee by 8:00 AM, Wednesday, August 23, 2023.

Hello Liberty Parents and Families!
We had another great week at Liberty! With teaching and learning in full swing, we continue to have many events and opportunities to look forward to this quarter.
This week, we will be hosting our first Coffee with the Principal/ELAC of the school year on August 16. We hope you to see you there!
Additionally, we are seeking to elect one parent representative to serve on the Liberty School Site Council. Please see below for details.
Thank you for your continued support!
With gratitude,
~ Ms. Dougherty
The School Site Council (SSC) is a decision-making body for the school. The primary role of (SSC) is to monitor the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA) which is directly linked to our budget. Parents represent one-half of the 10 member committee. In addition to increasing familiarity with our school, serving on the SSC is an opportunity to provide input for school-wide decision-making.
Currently, there is ONE parent representative vacancy for a two-year term for which we need nominations and an election.
If yo are interested in having your name placed on the ballot, please either complete the electronic form below or submit a hard copy to the front office by 8:00am Thursday, August 18.
SSC Meetings are held monthly from 3:00-4:30pm.
ELOP Update
Initial confirmation letters have been sent home for students who registered by 8/7. Due to limited capacity, students may be placed on a waitlist. Additional letters will be sent home this week to confirm attendance.

Build Good Attendance Habits Early
DID YOU KNOW...
Starting in preschool and kindergarten too many absences can cause children to fall behind in school
Missing 10% or about 2 days each month over the course the school year can make it harder to learn to read
Students can still fall behind if they miss just 1or 2 days every few weeks
Being late to school can lead to poor attendance
