About

What is Dungeons and Dragons?

Most simply put, Dungeons and Dragons is a Table Top Role Playing Game (TTRPG) in which player characters create characters using guidelines set by the rulebook and partake in adventures that the Game Master (GM) or Dungeon Master (DM) creates. Playing in a game promotes working in a team and having creativity to accomplish different tasks that you must solve to achieve your goal.

Characters

There are many different kinds of characters that you can create in DnD, the two most prominent features of your character being their race and class. A few primary races include Human, Elf, Dwarf, Gnome, and Halfling, each with their own special features and traits. The other major feature is classes, which include but aren't limited to Fighter, Wizard, Ranger, Rouge, and Cleric. Your class determines in what way you will fight, and gives you a bunch of individual features.

Adventures

DMs and GMs create adventures for their players to go through, which often have an overarching goal set in place. Games usually have 3-5 players, but can be played with more or less people. The GMs create encounters for your party to face, such as battle encounters with Goblins and Snake people, and social encounters, such as talking to the King of a distant land to convince him to join forces with your home kingdom. The GMs also create the world in which you travel through. They create your hometown, and decide if you have to pass through a dense forest or a steep mountain to get to the next town or city.
