June 7th: Campaign Start

Aware of the incoming Capellan raiders and the growing unrest in the streets, RAF military units spread themselves across the planet, hoping to provide at least a nominal defense at all major points of strategic importance. Legate Victor Ruskoff intentionally left remote Desu in the wilds of Nanlu continent without a garrison, in the hopes that by presenting an easy landing zones, the Capellans would be lured in a position when they could be bottled up by the strong forces in an around HungLi Military base. Sao-Shao Terrence McCarron elected not to take this bait, however, and instead made contact with irregular militia cells drawn primarily from the miners in the mountainous city of Mau-Ti. Hit by the full force of an Augmented Battalion and roughly two companies of supporting insurgents, the two combined arms RAF companies present each found themselves in a desperate struggle to hold out until reinforcements arrived. The V Triarii forces present made a stand at their mountain firebase overlooking the city, while the LRSG units attempted to hold the city's main approach.
