Audio Collaborations
An "audio collaboration" is where we individually record ourselves playing along to a selected song. We'll then multi-track combine everyone's recording to make it sound like we're playing together as a group!

Our 1st audio collaboration project (May 8th) was "Imagine" by John Lennon (chord sheet). Participants were Arlene, Ben, Bill, Dan T, Daniel G, Irene, James, Jean, Jen, Ken, Louise, and Vanessa. Also listen to the "Imagine [Remix]" where the mix was redone after 4 months of editing experience.
Our 2nd audio collaboration project (May 22nd) was "Blue Bayou" by The Cox Family (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Ben, Betty, Bill, Dan T, Daniel & Gloria G, Frank, Irene, Jean, Jen, Ken, and Vanessa.
Our 3rd & 4th audio collaboration projects (June 5th) were "Will You Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles (chord sheet) and "I'm into Something Good" by Herman's Hermits (chord sheet). Our 5th & 6th audio collaboration projects (June 19th) were "As Tears Go By" by Marianne Faithfull (chord sheet) and "Take Me Home, Country Roads" by John Denver (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill, Dan T, Daniel G, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise.
Our 7th & 8th audio collaboration projects (July 3rd) were "I Only Want to Be with You" by Dusty Springfield (chord sheet) and "Daniel" by Elton John (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill, Dan T, Daniel G, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and Neil Reedy. An interesting factoid is that Dusty also sang in German. Dan was the only one talented enough handle "Auf Dich Nur Wart Ich Immer Zu".
Our 9th & 10th audio collaboration projects (July 17th) were "The Letter" by The Boxtops (chord sheet) and "Peaceful Easy Feeling" by the Eagles (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill, Dan T, Daniel G, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. A special thanks to Alan Tepper for providing the great bass track on "The Letter".
Our 11th & 12th audio collaboration projects (July 31st) were "Chapel of Love" by the Dixie Cups (chord sheet) and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?" by Creedence Clearwater Revival (chord sheet). Our 13th audio collaboration project (Aug 14th) was "With a Little Help from My Friends" by The Beatles (chord sheet). Our 14th audio collaboration project (Aug 28th) was "Build Me Up Buttercup" by The Foundations (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, & Louise with a special thanky to Ult Guit for the drums backing track.
Our 15th audio collaboration project (Sept 11th) was "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise & Ult Guit (drums backing track). This one is our most ambitious undertaking so far and there are a lot of special tracks like flute, clarinet, synth strings, organ, chimes, a singing bowl, a poem recital, and (wait for it...) a goooonnnnngggggg.
Our 16th audio collaboration project (Sept 25th) was "Brown Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, PJ, Louise, and Ult Guit for the drums backing track. For a different mix, have a listen to what it sounds like with no ukes: "Brown Eyed Girl [No Ukes]"
Our 17th audio collaboration project (Oct 9th) was "Ramblin' Man" by The Allman Brothers Band (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Dan, Jean, Jen & Ken, PJ, and Ult Guit for the drums backing track. A special thanks to Bill Hong for providing the great bass track as well as all the uke and guitar solos.
Our 18th audio collaboration project (Oct 23rd) was "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, PJ, and Ult Guit (drums backing track). This one has a lot of really great rhythm tracks. Just have a listen to this alternate mix with the main group vocals removed.
Our 19th audio collaboration project (Nov 6th) was "Bad Moon Rising" by Creedence Clearwater Revival (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, PJ, and Ult Guit (drums backing track). There was a spooky early mix created specially for Halloween.
Our 20th audio collaboration project (Nov 20th) was "I'll Never Find Another You" by The Seekers (chord sheet). Participants were Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ.
Our 21st audio collaboration project (Dec 4th) was "Can't You Hear My Heartbeat" by Herman's Hermits (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise.
Our 22st audio collaboration project (Dec 18th) was "Light the Menorah" (chord sheet) which is a holiday parody of CCR's "Down on the Corner". The awesome lyrics in this song came from the creative minds of Jean, Anne, Betty, Jen, & Bill. The musicians were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise.

Our 23rd audio collaboration project (Jan 8th) was "Memories" by Maroon 5 (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise. For an different take, have a listen to Bill's Women's Choir Mix.
Our 24th audio collaboration project (Jan 22nd) was "Fly Me to the Moon" by Frank Sinatra (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. A very special thanks to Neil (Jen's brother) for the outstanding trumpet section and melodica tracks.
Our 25th audio collaboration project (Feb 5th) was "Be My Baby" by The Ronettes (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, PJ, and Ult Guit (drums backing track). There were over 50 tracks submitted in our attempt to create the "wall of sound".

Our 27th audio collaboration project (Mar 5th) was "Blame It on the Bossa Nova" by Eydie Gormé (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. Our 28th audio collaboration project (Mar 19th) was "Crocodile Rock" by Elton John (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. Ken created the drum track using a drum machine program called Hydrogen.
Our 29th audio collaboration project (Apr 2nd) was "Maria" by Blondie (chord sheet). This was our first attempt at the New Wave genre. Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ.
Our 30th audio collaboration project (Apr 16th) was Louise's selection of "Hooked on a Feeling" by Blue Swede (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. A special thanks goes to Neil (Jen's brother) for the trumpet tracks.

Our 33rd audio collaboration project (May 28th) was Arlene's selection of "Teach Your Children" by Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise.
Our 34th audio collaboration project (June 11th) was Irene's selection of "Losing My Religion" by R.E.M. (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ.
Our 35th audio collaboration project (June 25th) was Bill Hoffman's selection of "Sloop John B." by The Beach Boys (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. Bill Hoffman also created an alternate ending mix.
Our 36th audio collaboration project (July 9th) was "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, and Louise. It was a bit of a stretch to sing like the brothers Gibb but I think we did OK.
Our 37th audio collaboration project (July 23rd) was the jazz standard "Moonglow" by The Mills Brothers (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ. This one turned out to be one of our club favorites.
Our 38th audio collaboration project (Aug 7th) was a cover of "Thank You for the Music" by ABBA as covered by the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain (chord sheet). This song features vocal solos in this order: Dan, Betty, Irene, Bill Hoffman, Louise, Jean, Jen, Anne, Arlene, Ken, and Frank. Anne is the "girl with the golden hair" and Bill Hong replies that she wants to "sing it out". PJ is also uke'n in the mix.
Our 39th audio collaboration project (Aug 20th) was a cover of the ukulele standard "Tonight You Belong to Me" from the movie "The Jerk" (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and PJ.

Our 54th audio collaboration project (Apr 14th) was the start of our lofty attempt to cover the entire "A Hard Day's Night" album by The Beatles. Track #1 is the title song "A Hard Day's Night" (chord sheet). Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Jen & Ken, Louise, and Victor.

Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Ken, Louise, and PJ. It's fair to say that everyone was impressed with Irene's bongos.
Our 58th audio collaboration project (Aug 5th) was "This Boy" (chord sheet) . This song actually isn't on the "A Hard Day's Night" album by The Beatles but it is in the movie soundtrack. Participants were Anne, Arlene, Betty & Frank, Bill Hoffman, Bill Hong, Dan, Irene, Jean, Ken, and Louise.
