Although the MUN began to take a more significant turn in the lives of Lima High School students around 2016, it was not until November 2018 that the first edition of the LHS MUN was founded, having as a sequel the LHS MUN 2019, yet both with an internal scale among its own student body. This couple of previous experiences helped us to consolidate the vision we have in relation to the development of youth awareness with current problems and how it is that, the direct treatment of these, may potentially drive the new generation to be agents of change in our society.
Our initiative is to form this generation with people capable of doing changes in our world. With the help of these conferences, each delegate develops their own knowledge and skills to create new and interesting ways of solving current problems. In that way, we are starting an enormous impact on our world, by demonstrating the capacity of young people on bringing possible and concrete ways of solving complicated issues.
Based on this idea, the LHS MUN's main purpose is to develop negotiation and diplomacy skills among us, moreover, we seek that our delegates have the opportunity to obtain a new vision of life, one where there are no limits and where these agents of change consolidate their ambitious and resilient attitudes.

Dear delegates and Faculty Advisors,
On behalf of the secretariat it is our pleasure to welcome you to the first edition of Lima High School Model United Nations, a different experience of Model UN that each delegate is used to, an online conference built with a lot of enthusiasm, collaboration and hard work in order to make the best possible for you at home. My MUN career began back in the year 2017 after joining the team with some of my classmates. At that moment I realized that it was the perfect fit for me, and without even noticing, it has already been 3 years where I have met incredible people, have had unforgettable experiences and learned to overcome myself all throughout the way.
The pandemic that the world is facing has brought changes to the life of every single person, but it has not stopped us from working to provide you with a wonderful first edition of MUN. Personally, I am saddened by the fact of not being able to held this conference the way that I was used to and feel that atmosphere. On the other side, I will be forever grateful with the people I’ve met along the way of this path. All my partners involved on Model United Nations have always been for me an inspiration, motivation and of course, lifesaver at times.
Before I finish, I want to give special thanks to every member of the Secretariat and Advisors team for their amazing and hard work to make LHSMUN. I want to thank you all for the trustiness on this first edition, because to make a good conference, a good team is not the only thing needed, great participants are also the key.
