What is Lex Leaders?

The Lexington Cheer Program is proud to offer Lex Leaders, a fun and exciting opportunity for Lexington students in grades K–6 to experience what it's like to be part of the Lexington Cheer family!

While Lexington does not currently have a youth cheerleading team, our Junior High and High School Teams host two annual Lex Leaders events that allow younger students to learn cheers, build confidence, make new friends, and perform alongside our cheerleaders in front of the Lexington community.

Fall Lex Leaders Sideline Experience

During football season, Lex Leaders participants attend a cheer clinic where they learn basic cheerleading skills, crowd-leading techniques, and game-day material. Participants then join the Lexington Cheerleaders on the sidelines during the first half of a Friday Night Football Game, helping lead cheers and experience the excitement of Friday Night Lights.

Winter Lex Leaders Halftime Experience

During basketball season, Lex Leaders participants attend a clinic to learn a dance routine and several fan-favorite cheers. Participants then perform alongside the Lexington Cheerleaders during halftime of a JV or Varsity basketball game, showcasing what they learned for family, friends, and the Lexington community.

Building Future Minutemen Cheerleaders

Lex Leaders provides young athletes with a positive introduction to cheerleading while creating meaningful connections with our Junior High and High School Cheerleaders. Whether participants are interested in future cheer opportunities or simply want to have fun and show their Lexington spirit, Lex Leaders is a memorable experience for every athlete.
