The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has been relentless in its support of local government units (LGUs) and stakeholders to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs. We’ll be discussing key initiatives like the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) and the Barangay Drug-Clearing Program (BDCP), which aim to create drug-free communities across the country.
Learn more about DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2017-58 and the latest DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2024-141, which strengthen the roles of LGUs, PDEA, PNP, DOH, and other partners in these crucial efforts.

The fourth episode of DILG Caraga CONNECT dives into a pivotal topic: The Decentralization Framework established by the 1991 Local Government Code. This discussion aligns with the nationwide celebration of Local Government Code Month.
The DILG, in response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to strengthen collaboration between national and local governments, launched the “Decentralization and Local Governance Reform Advocacy.” This initiative aims to amplify the voice of local government units (LGUs) and leagues in national decision-making, empowering them to play a greater role in driving development and pushing for meaningful amendments to the 1991 Local Government Code.
In this episode, discover the proposed updates, recommendations and ongoing discussions, and the key challenges as DILG Caraga leads efforts to make the Code clearer and more effective for LGUs.
