Privacy Policy for Hundown
Last updated: September 8, 2026
Summary
Hundown is a web browser with a built-in download manager, built to work entirely on your device. It has no user accounts and never asks you to sign in. It contains no advertising, collects no analytics, and makes no connection to any server operated by us. The pages you browse and the files you download never leave your device by way of Hundown.
The only network traffic Hundown produces is the traffic you cause: loading the web pages you open, and downloading the files you choose to save. This policy explains, in detail, what data exists and where it is stored.
1. Who provides this app
Hundown ("the app") and this policy are provided by LG Dev Studio ("we", "us"), the developer of the app.
Contact: jhonnfrank1995@gmail.com
2. Information stored on your device
Hundown creates and stores the following data locally on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party by the app.
Links you enter or open. When you paste a link or open a page in the built-in browser, that link is processed on your device to detect available media, and may be kept in your local history.
Download history. A local record of what you have saved: title, source link, size, date and status.
Downloaded files. The video, audio and subtitle files you save are written to your device storage — by default the "Download/Hundown" folder, or a folder you choose. These are ordinary files that you own and control.
Built-in browser data. History and cookies from the built-in browser are stored locally, like in any browser. You can clear them at any time, and private mode keeps no history and no persistent cookies.
Preferences. Your settings: theme, language, default quality, save folder, notification choices, search engine.
Diagnostic information (optional). If you turn on diagnostic mode (a hidden developer setting), the app keeps a local, sanitized record of the last media-resolution attempt to help troubleshoot failures. Links and query parameters are stripped before anything is recorded. It is never sent anywhere unless you deliberately export and share it yourself.
Source status. A local note of which sources have recently worked, so the app can tell you before you try.
You can remove all of this by uninstalling the app. Files you saved to the "Download/Hundown" folder remain on your device after uninstalling, because they belong to you; you can delete them from your file manager or gallery.
3. Information Hundown does NOT collect
Hundown does not collect, store off your device, or transmit any of the following:
Your name, email address, phone number, or any account information (there are no accounts)
Device identifiers, the Android advertising ID, or any identifier that could link one use of the app to another
Your location
Your contacts, calendar, photo library, camera, or microphone
The links you open, the pages you visit, or the files you download
Usage analytics, event tracking, or behavioral data
Crash reports sent to a third party
The app contains an internal analytics interface reserved for possible future use; in this version it is a placeholder that records and sends nothing.
4. Network connections the app makes
Hundown connects to the internet only in two situations, both caused by you:
a) Web pages you open. When you use the built-in browser, your device connects directly to the websites you visit, exactly as any browser does. Those websites receive your device's IP address and whatever your requests contain, and they apply their own privacy policies. Hundown does not add any tracking to this traffic.
b) Downloading media you choose. When you start a download, your device connects to the server hosting that file in order to retrieve it. This happens only for downloads you start.
Hundown does not connect to any server operated by us, and it does not connect to any advertising network, analytics service, or tracking service.
5. The built-in browser
History and cookies are stored only on your device and can be cleared at any time.
Private mode keeps no history and no persistent cookies.
Hundown has no password manager and never stores passwords.
When Hundown automatically detects media on a page, it does so in a separate, temporary context. It never reuses your logged-in sessions and never acts on a website with your identity.
6. The protected space (PIN)
If you choose to set up the optional PIN-protected space:
Your PIN is never stored in plain text. Only a salted hash (PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256, 120,000 iterations) is kept, in Android's encrypted storage. The hash is used only to check whether a later PIN matches, and is never sent anywhere.
Files you move into the protected space are encrypted on your device (AES-256-GCM) using a key held in the Android Keystore, which never leaves your device's secure hardware.
If your device supports it, you can unlock the space with your fingerprint or device biometrics. Biometric data is handled entirely by Android and is never seen by Hundown.
7. Permissions
Hundown requests only the permissions it needs, and asks for the sensitive one (notifications) in context rather than at startup.
Internet and network state — to load pages and download the files you choose; to detect whether you are on Wi-Fi (for the "save only on Wi-Fi" option); and to resume downloads after a connection drop.
Notifications (Android 13 and later) — to show download progress and completion. You may decline this or turn it off.
Run in the background, keep the device awake, restart after reboot — so downloads continue when the screen is off or the app is closed, and are rescheduled if your device restarts mid-download.
Biometrics / fingerprint — only to unlock the optional protected space.
Hundown does NOT request access to your location, contacts, camera, microphone, phone, SMS or calendar; it does not request "All files access"; and it does not request the advertising ID.
8. Advertising and analytics
This version of Hundown contains no advertising and no advertising SDKs, and no analytics SDK. If this ever changes, this policy and the app's Google Play Data safety information will be updated before any such component is added.
9. Data sharing
Hundown does not share any data with us or with any third party, because it does not collect any.
10. Data retention and your choices
App data (history, preferences, database) stays on your device until you clear it in the app or uninstall.
Downloaded files stay where they were saved until you delete them.
In the app you can clear browser history and cookies, use private mode, turn notifications off, turn diagnostic mode off, and remove the protected space at any time.
Because we do not collect any personal data, there is nothing on our side for you to request access to, correct, or delete. If you have questions, contact us at the address above.
11. Children
Hundown is not directed to children and does not ask for anyone's age. It is a general-purpose browser and download tool. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
12. Security
Network connections use HTTPS/TLS.
The protected space uses hardware-backed encryption, as described in section 6.
The app requests a minimal set of permissions and no high-risk permissions.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app's News & updates. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
