Hi, I’m Jamie,
I’m an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist from the north-east of England in the UK, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), as well as a graduate-chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
I have five years of counselling and psychological support behind me, with my focus being on those from minority groups, such as those in the LGBTQIA+ community, of which I myself are a part of, as well as those who may fall under the neurodiverse umbrella, whether diagnosed or not.*
*Please note that I can not diagnose, nor dispense medication.
Life can always be a bit much, especially for marginalised groups. Counselling can be many things for different people, it can be a place to get short-term support for a specific goal, a place to work through some personal issues, or a place to touch-base with a professional each week in order to help keep oneself healthy.
I offer a non-judgemental, and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse individuals, and work with issues that this group may primarily face, but is not limited solely to these issues.
The counselling I offer is done remotely.
As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the issues that those under our umbrella can fall under, both in the UK, and world-wide. As such, I offer a friendly and inclusive space for all who fall under the LGBT+ umbrella.
I can offer support for relationships, including exploration of ones self if you’re questioning your sexual identity. I can also offer insight into any issues you may be having, as well as general support and signposting.
I offer supportive and non-judgemental therapy for transgender, non-binary, and gender queer people, fully understanding how your rights across the globe are currently being pulled into question by governments and malicious independents. Whilst I sadly can not dispense HRT medication, I can help with day to day issues you may face, including issues not related to being gender diverse.
For everyone under the LGBT+ umbrella, I offer a space with inclusive language, and the highest of confidentiality in order to provide safety and security to those I work with. Regardless of if the topic we’re working with is directly correlated to your identity, or not.
For those concerned, no - I do NOT offer conversion therapy - and I believe it should be banned.
