PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Task Force is a group of community members, staff, parents, and district stakeholders who come together to learn about and discuss the future facility needs of the Loyal and Greenwood School Districts. The group will look at buildings, enrollment, finances, educational programming, and community feedback to help the districts understand options that align best for the current and future students of each community. The group will provide a recommendation to the joint school boards in Spring 2026 - May 13, 2026.
Understand the current state of each school
Learn about building conditions and long-term facility needs in each district
Review enrollment trends, financial information, and educational program requirements
Consider feedback from staff surveys and community listening sessions
Discuss the benefits and challenges of different long-term options
Develop a recommendation for the Board of Education
At the end of the process, the Task Force will present a clear recommendation that reflects what is best for students, taxpayers, and both communities.
Members are selected to create a balanced mix of:
Parents and families
Staff and teachers
Community volunteers
Local business/industry professionals
Non-parents/non-staff
The goal is to bring a variety of perspectives to the table.
Note: quorum cannot be present, two board members from each district are appointed to serve on the Joint Task Force.
The Task Force will meet regularly throughout the planning process. Meetings will include:
Presentations on facilities, data, and costs
Group discussions and Q&A
Review of community and staff feedback
Examination of possible facility and consolidation scenarios and options
Members are expected to attend all meetings, ask questions, and share their perspectives while keeping an open mind.
At the conclusion of its work, the Joint Task Force will bring a recommendation to the Joint Board of Education. This recommendation will help guide the districts as they plan for the long-term educational, financial, and facility needs of the Loyal and Greenwood communities.
