Coach Derrick Lyvers serves as the Head Coach for the LFCA Middle School Boys Basketball program and is passionate about developing players both on and off the court. His coaching philosophy goes beyond wins and losses, focusing on character, discipline, teamwork, and faith.
Coach Lyvers believes basketball is a powerful tool to teach life lessons such as accountability, leadership, and perseverance. He strives to create a Christ-centered culture where players are encouraged to work hard, support one another, and represent LFCA with integrity.
His goal is to help young men grow not only as basketball players, but as leaders, teammates, and followers of Christ, preparing them for success in high school basketball and beyond.

Coach Alec Blankenship brings a fresh energy and strong leadership presence to the LFCA Middle School Boys Basketball program. With recent high school playing experience at North Bullitt High, Coach Alec connects well with players and offers a valuable, relatable perspective on skill development, effort, and competitive mindset.
He is passionate about helping players grow in basketball fundamentals while also emphasizing team-first mentality, accountability, and confidence. Coach Alec’s enthusiasm and encouragement make him a positive influence in the gym and a trusted mentor to the players.
Committed to supporting the program’s Christ-centered mission, Coach Alec strives to lead by example, demonstrating strong character, work ethic, and a love for the game.
Coach Johnny Riedel is a freshman in high school and a former LFCA player, having played for the Lions over the past several years. His firsthand experience in the program allows him to connect naturally with players and relate to them both on and off the court.
Johnny brings a ready-to-serve attitude and positive energy to every practice and game. Whether he’s helping run drills, bringing encouragement and energy to the bench, or assisting with tasks such as running the scoreboard, he is always willing to step up wherever needed.
Coach Johnny is a great example of leadership through service, and his commitment to the team reflects both his love for the game and his dedication to supporting others.
Team Manager Sawyer Sebastian is an invaluable part of the LFCA Boys Basketball program and truly exemplifies a servant’s heart. Always willing to help, Sawyer plays a key role in supporting the team during both practices and games.
He assists with drills during practice, helps manage the stat book during games, and steps in to meet various needs as they arise. His reliability, positive attitude, and willingness to serve make him a trusted support for coaches and players alike.
