One of the main livelihood/source of income for the people in Apid Island in Cuatro Islas in Inopacan, Leyte is weaving mats, baskets, hats, etc. The more popular destination, Digyo Island is located just across via a 5-minute pump boat ride. Also in Cuatro Islas are Mahaba Island and Himokilan island with the same white sand and pristine beaches.
Abacca, Coconut Shells, Pandan Leaves, Bamboo and Malave Woods, Abacca Bags and Coco Shell Placemats are prime examples. In Tacloban, they have Tikog Crafts.
Cenon Policarpio of TAP’s Handicrafts showcased tikog textiles, rife in Tanauan, Leyte, in the form of bags and hampers.
