We are a gender-free dance and use Larks and Robins role terms.
Our hall has a beautiful wood floor! Please bring clean, dry shoes to dance in, use our shoe brushes, or go barefoot.
We have a snack table at the break! Consider bringing something to share.
This is a chem free event. Please do not come under the influence of any substances. Please do not wear perfume or other fragrances.
Admission is sliding scale, suggested $15-25, teens & students $5, age 12 & under free. Pay what you can - our bands and callers are worth it! No one turned away for lack of funds!
Our dances are often photographed by Tyler Pulk, who posts images to his portfolio. We use the photos here on our website, on our Facebook, and on our deffa.org listings. If you would prefer to not be photographed, please speak directly to Tyler!
Together, we create a dance that is:
welcoming to everyone, regardless of their background or experience level
physically and emotionally safe
full of joy!
If any of these things are not happening for you, please tell one of the organizers or the caller. We will listen, and we will help.
If you are a contra dance band or caller and would like to perform with us, send us an email! We would love to work with you! See our performer sheet for more information about us and our space.
The Lewiston Contra Dance committee consists of Greg Boardman, Ellen Hodgkin, Jae Zimmermann, and Tyler Pulk. Contact them or speak to them during the dance if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!
