This hand-carved dog holds a special story. The log came from a neighbor's tree that needed to be removed, and instead of letting the wood go to waste, I saw an opportunity to transform it into something meaningful.
After removing the bark and allowing the wood to dry naturally, I began to shape this simple yet charming dog, leaving it as though resting on the very log it came from.
The carving doesn’t focus on intricate details like facial features; instead, it captures the essence of a dog’s form in its purest, most minimalistic style.
The wood’s grain plays a major role in giving this piece its character—natural curves and textures shine through, adding depth and uniqueness to the carving.
This project was more than just a carving—it was a way to give back to the original owner of the tree, who happens to be a passionate dog lover.
The result is a piece that not only reflects the bond between nature and craft but also becomes a full-circle gift, returning to its roots in the most literal sense.
