Professional Artifacts

With teaching being as personal and varied a profession as it is, it's important to understand the general style, thought processes, and ideologies that go into my work. From this page, you'll be able to access lesson plans, research pieces, and explanatory writings divided into three categories important to my teaching.

Click they gray title boxes below to read more and see example artifacts belonging to each category.

Though students and parent may stress most about large, imposing summative assessments, assessments are more than exams and research papers. Here, you'll be able to gain insight into the way I make content relevant to students' lives outside of the classroom, how I incorporate technology into my units, and the checklist of necessary elements that all of my assessments must meet before being used with students.

In this section, I showcase ways that I make my teaching relevant and approachable to students of varying backgrounds and life situations. On this page you'll see how lessons can be designed to promote cultural awareness and diversity, how I manage differentiating content for students with specific needs and disabilities.

Finally, in "Coaching with Purpose," I extend the reach of my discussion to include my work in extracurricular activities. When done well, coaching can and should have just as much consideration and intention put into its planning as traditional in-class education, and the links on this page explain how I approach coaching wrestling and boxing.
