LëtzLookup's developer does not receive, sell, or share lookup data. The extension does not use analytics and does not persist browsing history, page URLs, or lookup history.

When the user explicitly invokes a lookup, the selected text is sent directly over HTTPS to the public LOD service at https://lod.lu to retrieve dictionary results. Selected text is website content under browser-extension store data categories and may itself contain personal or sensitive information. Users should invoke lookup only for text they intend to send to LOD. The extension's developer does not receive it and does not operate an intermediary server.

LOD receives the lookup request and may receive technical request information, including the user's IP address. LOD states that IP addresses may be retained for security purposes for up to three months. LOD's privacy policy applies to those requests and is available through the “Privacy policy and cookies” link on the LOD website.

Pronunciation audio is retrieved by the extension without page referrer information or LOD cookies, then played locally in the result popover.

The extension stores the selected translation language locally in the browser. It also caches public LOD part-of-speech and usage labels and refreshes them after seven days to reduce repeated network requests. Expired labels may be used while LOD is unavailable and are replaced after a successful refresh. This dictionary metadata contains no lookup text or user data. The extension does not synchronize this data. Users can delete the locally stored preference and cache by removing the extension or clearing its extension data.

The extension uses activeTab only to show its result popover on the page where the user invoked it. It does not run persistently on webpages.

LëtzLookup's use and transfer of information complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide the dictionary lookup requested by the user. It is not used for advertising, profiling, creditworthiness, or any unrelated purpose.
