Born in the Philippines, Milena is a creative writer, mostly known for his endless poetry and prose. Most of his personal and published works delve into the experience of growing up genderqueer, and how that shaped his beliefs and overall character.
He started this project in the summer of 2025 with nothing but a laptop and an itch to create more. Gotta do more, gotta be more. Milena does not shy away from letting his artistic and literary influences show - from the novels of Donna Tartt, the visions of Mary Shelley, the lyrics of Hozier and Sufjan Stevens, to the sentiments of Ocean Vuong.
Letters from Milena is a youth organization that vehemently rejects any far-right, conservative, and harmful values. This project was started with the love for people, humanity, and the world - our ideologies shall reflect on this love and care we hold. Furthermore, we do not support the sinister usage of Generative AI for artistic intents. As a creative magazine, we believe that absolutely anyone can be an artist with their own hands and will. Any submitted works created with GenAl will be faced with rejection. We vow to continuously support human-made creations, especially in the creative realm.
