2ºA Natural Disasters
In the year 2011, in March 11th, there was an Earthquake. This disaster happened in Tohoku, Japan. This Earthquake was of 9.1 degrees in the richter scale. It was the worst Earthquake since records began 140 years ago. It only lasted 6 minutes, but it was so powerful, that it destroyed many things. It created a Tsunami 72 kilometres East of Japan. There were waves up to 10 meters high.
There were more than 154 aftershocks of the Earthquake, and unfortunately about 15.897 confirmed deaths.

In Bolivia's forest, some fires srarted. Initially, the fire started in the "Otuquis National Park". The fire spread to the "Integrated Natural Managemet Area". 500 people died and 1,610 people were injured. The fire killed a great number of species, including tapirs, armadillos and jaguars. The fires ended on 15th September, 2020.

This started on May 1st, 2008, in Chile. The volcano's name is Chaitén. The eruption started around 23:45h, (local time). Luckily, only one person died. It almost completely destroyed the city of Chaitén.
