The challenges of creating a just and equitable community are even more acute in a post-pandemic world. From neighborhoods to our social circles, purposeful conversations about race can help people move out of their comfort zones and journey into places that are uncomfortable but necessary to understand the lives of others more fully. By using trained library staff to create safe spaces, and opportunities for empathy and growth, the University of South Carolina's School of Information Science and Richland Library are working with students, the campus community, and the professional library community to teach them how to become conveners and facilitators, who are able to provide insight, information, and new perspectives in times of crisis.

Join us for a day of turning our conversations into action!
