Let's Talk Race
Supporting courageous conversations in your organization and community
Welcome to the Let's Talk Race experience
This is a space where we provide tools, resources, support, and training to start a Let’s Talk Race experience in your community. We've created a pathway for you to customize the program and make it your own.
Let’s Talk Race, LTR for short, began at the Richland Library in Columbia, South Carolina in 2016. We started using small circles of dialogue to spark courageous conversations about race. Our journey continues and we hope you will join us in doing the work.
Goals of the Let's Talk Race experience
"We wanted to create a resource that would help our communities come together during times of unrest." -Rewrite as a quote from Melanie Huggins
Create opportunities for civic engagement
Build community connections
Encourage courageous conversations
Details about the learning program
We've devised a learning pathway to help you get started, build facilitation skills, and create conversation guides to hold your own circles of dialog. Take a step-by-step approach or start exploring to see what you might need.
Hear directly from facilitators at Richland Library and learn from their experiences.
