Eating Simulator

Eating simulator was my first ever Vr project. It was developed in 2021 for the Virtual Reality course that I studied during my fourth year at the Politecnico of Turin. 

The following video will show all the functions that the users can discover inside the application.

The application was developed together with some students from the neurological studies and it was meant to be used in order to study how the brain responds to different visual and auditory eating input, like the pasta and the meat in front of them and the audio of the chewing. We wanted to study if the users could feel the sense of fullness as if they had actually eaten something even though they were just inside a VR application.

The users would experience a tutorial on how to use the application and then they will be teleported inside of the VR world. They will be able to navigate inside the world and then come inside the restaurant. The waitress will bring them food and they will be able to eat and also to put some music inside the stereo. After the meal they will be able to pay and then leave.

My duties where mostly related to the graphical part and so I found and modelled the objects both inside of the restaurant and outside. I also designed the tutorial and found the sounds for the different situations.

As for the coding part I was in charge of the coroutine that managed the movements of the waitress.
