Parents, students, and staff of Lower Merion High School are calling on the School District to proceed with the construction of the Arnold Field turf field with lights.
After years of review and litigation, the Lower Merion School District, Lower Merion Township, and the Wynnewood Civic Association—have signed and agreed to the construction of a new turf facility with lights on Arnold Field.
Key Facts:
The Township of Lower Merion approved the settlement agreement between the School District and the Wynnewood Civic Association in November 2024, clearing the path to proceed.
The legal disputes are fully resolved, and no additional zoning or land development approvals are required.
The current plan provides modern, safe, and well-lit athletic facilities for students while balancing neighborhood concerns through responsible design, limited lighting hours, and significant landscape buffering.
The School District has already spent hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees to obtain this settlement. Delaying the project now is a waste of these taxpayer funds.
Please plan to attend the Regular School Board Meeting on December 15, 2025, to encourage our School Board to Act Now.
“Our students deserve safe, modern facilities that reflect the excellence of our schools. With all approvals in place, there’s no reason for further delay—let’s build a new Arnold Field and give our kids the facilities they’ve been waiting for.”
