PhD student at Leipzig University (Linguistics department)

Hi,
My name is Leonie Barabas-Weil [ˈleoˌni ˈbaʁabas va͡ɪl]. I am a PhD student and research fellow (wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin) in the research training group Interaction of Grammatical Building Blocks (IGRA)  at Leipzig University which is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). My pronouns are she/her (sie/ihr in German).

My main research interest is theoretical syntax with focus on understudied languages. Some of my current research interests include agreement, case, long distance movement. Currently, I am working with data from Turkana, an Eastern Nilotic language spoken in the North of Kenya, which I collected on fieldtrips in September 2022 and August 2023.
