Thanks for visiting my website. I am a mathematical-physicist who always seeks for interesting problems that offer both numerical and analytical challenges. At the moment, I am mainly focused (but not constrained) in problems related to the mathematical and numerical aspects of neural networks . Below, there is some basic information about me and my areas of interest in research.
Assistant Professor, Mathematics Department, Univeridad del Valle, Colombia.
Bachelor degree in Physics, Universidad de Antioquia, Colombia.
Master degree in Sciences-Physics, Universidad del Valle, Colombia.
Ph.D. in Matematics, University of Otago, New Zealand.
Postdoctoral Fellow in Mathematics, Universität Tübingen, Germany.
Numerical General Relativity
Solving Differential Equations Using Neural Networks
Applications of Neural Networks in Bioinformatics
Applications of Neural Networks for analysing magnetic systems
Mathematical Aspects of Deep Neural Networks
Currently, I am primarily interested in projects related to the mathematical and numerical aspects of neural networks. Below are some of the projects I am currently working on:
Classification algorithms for DNA sequences (in collaboration with Jorge Leandro Rodríguez, master's student and Dr. Andres Castillo).
Implementation of bidirectional transformers for DNA sequence completion.
Application of vision transformers for the analysis of medical images (in collaboration with Dr. Sebastián Trujillo).
Optimal signal interpolation using neural networks (in collaboration with Jorge Leandro Rodríguez, master's student).
