Monthly Simulator Scenario / Shoot Challenge (Spring/Summer/Fall)

Purpose

• Increase simulator interest and participation.

• Build department engagement through friendly monthly competition.

• Encourage skill growth and simulator time (time on simulator/competency development).

How It Works

• Each month a new scenario / shoot challenge is designated.

• The instructor schedules simulator time focused on a training topic. (2, 4, or 8-hour sessions)

  • Add a short competition challenge at the end.

  • Results/times are submitted and recorded only during instructor-scheduled sessions.

  • Officers have 4 opportunities to try the challenge.

• Winners are identified based on season terms: Spring, Summer, Fall.

Goals

• Recognition and pride through friendly competition.

• Higher motivation and engagement vs. routine training.

• Team camaraderie and peer support.

• External comparison vs. other agencies.
