This Privacy Policy explains how Lenspot ("Lenspot", the "App", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, processes, and discloses information when you use the App.
Lenspot is an AI-powered visual recognition application that allows users to identify plants, birds, food, coins, and minerals using their mobile device camera.
Because Lenspot does not require account registration, information is generally associated with your device rather than a user account.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
Camera access is the core functionality of Lenspot.
With your permission, Lenspot may access your device camera to:
Capture images of plants, birds, food, coins, and minerals for identification
Take photos of objects you want to recognize and learn about
With your permission, Lenspot may access your device photo library to:
Import existing images for identification and recognition processing
Save identified results or images back to your photo library (if applicable)
Camera and photo access is only used at the moment you actively initiate a capture or import. The App does not access your camera or photo library in the background or without user action.
Users may revoke camera or photo permissions at any time through device settings.
With your permission, Lenspot may access your device storage to:
Save identification history locally on your device
Cache recognition results for faster loading
Storage access is only used when you actively save or view your identification history.
We may collect:
Device model
Device type
Operating system version
Unique device identifiers (such as IDFV)
Language settings
Time zone settings
IP address
Network status
This information helps us operate, optimize, and secure the App.
We take your privacy seriously.
Images you capture or upload for identification are processed and then immediately discarded. We do not store, retain, or access the images you scan using the App, except as described below:
Temporary Processing: Images are transmitted to our recognition service solely for the purpose of providing identification results. Once identification is complete, the image is not retained on our servers.
Identification History: Thumbnails of your identified images are stored locally on your device only (not on our servers) for your reference in the History feature.
We do not use your images for any purpose other than providing the identification service you request.
We may collect information regarding:
Feature usage (which categories you identify most often)
App performance
Crash reports
Diagnostic information
This information helps us improve reliability, accuracy, and user experience.
We may collect anonymized, aggregated recognition data (such as which objects are most frequently identified) to improve our AI models. This data is de-identified and cannot be linked back to you or your device.
We use information to:
Provide visual recognition and identification functionality
Deliver accurate identification results for plants, birds, food, coins, and minerals
Display knowledge cards and safety alerts
Save and display your identification history (locally on your device)
Improve App functionality and recognition accuracy
Diagnose technical issues

Comply with legal obligations
We share information only in the following circumstances.
We may use trusted third-party service providers to support App functionality, including:

These providers may process information on our behalf and only according to our instructions. They are contractually obligated to protect your information and are prohibited from using it for any other purpose.
We may disclose information if required by:
Applicable laws

Lenspot does not sell, rent, trade, license, or otherwise monetize users' personal information.
Lenspot does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
We do not share your images or identification content with any third party for their own purposes.
Because Lenspot does not use accounts, information is generally associated with your device.
If you uninstall the App, reset your device, or lose your device, your identification history and data may become permanently unavailable.
Images: Captured images are transmitted to our recognition service for processing and then immediately discarded. They are not stored on our servers.
Identification History: Your identification history (thumbnails and results) is stored locally on your device by default.
Device Information: Collected locally and transmitted for analytics purposes in anonymized form.
If certain cloud-based features (such as cloud backup of history) are offered in the future, such features will be optional and subject to additional consent.
Images: Retained only for the duration of the identification process (typically less than 5 seconds). After identification is complete, the image is deleted from our servers.
Identification History: Remains on your device until you choose to delete it.
Aggregated Recognition Data: Retained for model improvement purposes in de-identified form.
You may enable or disable camera, photo, or storage permissions through your device settings.
Disabling permissions may prevent certain features from functioning.
You may delete your identification history and data at any time through App controls.
Deleting the App will remove locally stored information from your device.
You may withdraw consent at any time by discontinuing use of the App and deleting the App from your device.
