Class Activities
Three Writing Projects: ✏️
Project 1: Educational Journeys Summary and Response
Project 2: Free vs Hate Speech Argument Essay
Project 3: Research Assignment on a Current Social Justice Issue
Each project will have us go through the writing process. We will read and view sources to familiarize ourselves with the subject at hand, we will work on developing thesis statements and organizing/supporting our arguments, and we will edit and revise our arguments as we look at grammatical and MLA requirements. What that means is that for each project, you will have a variety of reading and writing assignments. These assignments are meant to help you acquire the skills you need, and all I ask in them is that you do your best!.
Discussion Boards:
There will be a discussion board (sometimes two) due each week. The discussions will be relevant to the topic of the writing project we are currently working on. In order to receive full credit for the discussion, you will need to develop your original response of at least 300 words plus a minimum of two responses to your classmates, each at least 150 words long. In discussions is where we get to connect with each other, share our thoughts and ideas and learn from others' points of view.
Final Exam:
A timed source-based argument essay. You will have two hours to complete the final essay. More details and instructions to come!
