• Lenovo E310 — biggest strength: 13 mm dynamic drivers plus AI/ENC noise reduction on calls, in a light 33.6 g package with Bluetooth 5.3 and IPX4 water resistance.
• Lenovo E310 — biggest trade-off: One earbud style only. If you want an open-ear option for running or cycling, you don't get one here.
• RCA EarSwitch 4in1 — biggest strength: Two complete pairs of earbuds in a single case — open-ear hooks for sport and classic in-ear buds for everything else — with Bluetooth 5.4 and an LED battery display.
• RCA EarSwitch 4in1 — biggest trade-off: The open-ear design intentionally lets outside sound in, so it won't give you the sealed, bass-forward isolation some listeners want.
• Who each pick is for: Lenovo E310 for the listener who wants one dependable pair of in-ear buds for music, video and meetings. RCA EarSwitch 4in1 for the active user who wants to switch between a secure sport fit and a private in-ear fit without buying two products.
The E310 is a straightforward in-ear true wireless set, and it's clearly built around two things: sound and calls. The 13 mm dynamic drivers are the largest piece of hardware in this comparison, and Lenovo pairs them with a 20 Hz–20,000 Hz frequency range, 32 ohm impedance and 114 dB sensitivity. In plain terms, that's a full-range tuning with enough sensitivity to get loud from a phone without extra help. If your priority is bass-first music and video, this is the spec that matters.
Call quality is the other half of the pitch. The E310 uses AI / Environmental Noise Cancellation to filter background sound so your voice carries through during calls and meetings. It also runs Bluetooth 5.3 with a 10-meter range, which is the normal "phone in your pocket, walk around the room" distance. Battery is up to 5 hours per charge and up to 20 hours total with the case, and the case recharges over USB-C in about 2 hours. The earbuds themselves weigh 33.6 g including the kit, and the whole thing is plastic in white. IPX4 water resistance means sweat and light rain are fine — it is not a swim rating.
Buy it if: you want one pair of in-ear buds for commuting, desk work, calls and casual workouts, and you like the idea of touch controls for music, volume and voice assistants.
Skip it if: you need an open-ear option to stay aware of traffic on a run, or you want a visible battery readout on the case. The E310 gives you three power levels rather than a percentage display, and there's no second earbud style in the box.
RCA EarSwitch 4in1: Who It's For
Under the hood, RCA uses Bluetooth 5.4 — the newer version of the two here — with a 33-foot range, roughly triple the E310's 10 meters. Audio is tuned around an "Ultra Bass" profile, and the open-ear design is described as producing a wide soundstage while letting ambient sound through. Battery is up to 6 hours continuous per charge and 20 hours total with the case, and the case has an LED digital indicator showing the exact power percentage — a genuinely useful detail the Lenovo lacks. Controls are touch plus voice, covering play/pause, calls, volume and Siri or Google Assistant. High-sensitivity built-in mics handle hands-free calls.
Buy it if: you're after the best bluetooth headset for workout use and you also want a normal pair of earbuds for the rest of your day. The dual-set idea means you're not choosing between safety and immersion — you get both from one purchase.
Skip it if: you want maximum isolation all the time, or you'd rather carry one simple pair and not think about which set to grab. The open-ear buds deliberately leak outside noise in, and that's a feature, not a defect — but it isn't for everyone.
• Best for workout and outdoor training → RCA EarSwitch 4in1. The open-ear hook set is designed to prevent falling off and keeps you aware of your environment, which is exactly what running and cycling demand.
• Best for calls and meetings → Lenovo E310. AI / ENC noise reduction is built specifically to keep your voice clear over background noise.
• Best for battery readout and convenience → RCA EarSwitch 4in1. The LED display shows a precise percentage instead of the E310's three-level indicator.
• Best for long-range freedom around the house → RCA EarSwitch 4in1. 33 feet of Bluetooth 5.4 range versus 10 meters on the E310.
• Best for bass-forward music in a sealed fit → Lenovo E310. The 13 mm dynamic drivers are the bigger driver on paper, and the closed in-ear fit keeps that low end where you want it.
• Best for sweat and light rain → Lenovo E310. IPX4 water resistance is explicitly rated, while the RCA sheet doesn't specify a water-resistance rating — so don't assume one.
• Best for one-and-done simplicity → Lenovo E310. One pair, one case, USB-C, 33.6 g. Nothing to choose between in the morning.
• Best for versatility on a single purchase → RCA EarSwitch 4in1. Two earbud styles in one case covers sport, office and casual listening without a second purchase.
My Verdict
Touch control means you tap or swipe the earbud's outer surface instead of pressing a physical button. On both the Lenovo E310 and the RCA EarSwitch 4in1, those touch sensors handle play/pause, track changes, calls and, on the RCA, volume and voice assistant activation. It keeps the buds sealed and button-free, but it also means accidental taps are possible when you adjust the fit.
Neither the Lenovo E310 nor the RCA EarSwitch 4in1 lists a setting to switch its touch sensors off. On the E310, the control method is touch plus app, so any customization would come through the companion app rather than an on-bud toggle. If accidental taps are your problem, the practical fix is adjusting how you seat the earbud rather than disabling the controls.
Because that's the intended link, not a fault. Both of these are Bluetooth earbuds, so once paired, their touch sensors send commands to your phone — play, pause, skip, answer, hang up, and on the RCA, volume and voice assistant. If you only want audio and no commands, the only reliable option is to unpair or turn the earbuds off when you're not listening.
For workout use, I'd point you to the RCA EarSwitch 4in1 thanks to its open-ear hook set and 33-foot Bluetooth 5.4 range. The Lenovo E310 is the better pick if you want a sealed in-ear fit and an explicit IPX4 water-resistance rating.
