Universidad Complutense de Madrid
Leandro Bolivar is a teacher, doctoral student and Consejo Nacional de Desarrollo Científico y Tecnológico (CNPq) grand holder at Universidad Federal de Río de Janeiro. He is currently completing a placement at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) which is funded by Coordinación de Perfeccionamiento del Personal de Educación Superior (CAPES). Leandro holds a master’s in digital technologies education from Universidade de Lisboa, an MBA in School Managment and an MBA in Didactic Material Publishing. In addition, Leandro holds a post-graduate qualification in Distance Learning Management and Spanish and Portuguese Language teaching and a degree in Portuguese and Spanish Literature from Centro Universitario de la Ciudad. Leandro's main research interests are language teaching and learning, teacher training, applied linguistics, digital information and communication technologies.
University of the Fraser Valley
Dr. María Eugenia de Luna is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Modern Languages and the Department of Arts Integrated Studies at the University of the Fraser Valley. She specializes in teaching Spanish language, culture, and linguistics courses. Her research interests include the sociolinguistic interrelation between language and migration and the pedagogy of teaching and learning Spanish as a second language.
Ohio University
Muriel Gallego is an Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics-Spanish in the Department of Modern Languages at Ohio University, where she also serves as Language Program Director for Lower Division Spanish. Muriel teaches graduate and undergraduate level classes in additional languages teaching and learning, critical pedagogies for additional languages, language variation and change, and Hispanic sociolinguistics as well as Spanish language (all levels). Muriel´s research has been published in journals such as Hispania, Foreign Language Annals, Language Teaching Research, and Spanish in Context. Muriel was granted awards in Teaching, Diversity and Inclusion and Service and Leadership by the Ohio University College of Arts and Sciences.
University College Cork
Martin teaches the on the MA in Applied Linguistics programme in UCC and is Programme Director at Griffith College Cork. His research interests include sociolinguistics, in particular linguistic issues surrounding speakers of minority languages and their identities, minority language use, maintenance, transmission and language attitudes. Martin completed his undergraduate degree in Business in Tourism at Munster Technological University in Cork, and then went on to pursue an MA and PhD in Applied Linguistics at University College Cork. Martin´s doctoral focused on the language practices and experiences of Romani speakers. He conducted a cross-country comparison of Czech and Slovak Roma communities, examining how societal attitudes, historical legacies, and cultural identities influence linguistic behaviours.
Universidad de Chile
Angela is a Doctoral Candidate in Linguistics at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. Her interdisciplinary research centers on teacher education and linguistics, with a particular focus on the narratives of indigenous language teachers, analyzed through the lens of Systemic Functional Linguistics. Angela holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, both from Universidad de Chile. She currently teaches in the Linguistics undergraduate program at Universidad de Chile.
University of Burgos
Ariadna Saiz Mingo holds a degree in Philology from Universidad del País Vasco and a doctoral degree in the Didactics of Language and Literature from Universidad de Barcelona. Her thesis is entitled "Mujeres africanas de origen subsahariano: redes, representaciones y desafíos lingüístico-culturales (2017). She is currently teaching Semantics and Teaching mother tongue language to migrant students on the MELE Master at University of Burgos in the Department of Philology and Additional languages. She is also a teacher of Spanish as a second language and as a heritage language with IES abroad foundation. She is a member of INFORELE a Spanish as a foreign language research group and has many publications to her name.
Universidad de Lieja
Miryam Yaranga Alejandro holds a Masters in Language and Literture from Universidad de Lieja (ULg) in Belgium and holds a degree in Linguistics from Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (Lima-Perú) and in Education from Universidad Enrique Guzmán y Valle (Perú). Miryan is currently completing a certificate in Form@ticef (new technologies) from Universidad de Lieja and a masters in applied linguistics at Universidad de Lérida (España). Miryam is a teacher of Spanish for specific purposes in Haute École de la Province de Liège and contributes to the Masters in ELE at the Faculty of Modern and Romance languages and literatures at Universidad de Lieja.
Cork Traveller Women’s Network
Brigid co-ordinates the Cork Traveller Women’s Network, a community development project working for Traveller rights in Cork city, run by Traveller women. As a Traveller in Ireland, Brigid has experienced discrimination and racism first hand. She got involved in the Cork Traveller Women’s Network to have a stronger voice, as a Traveller woman. The work of the network is about Traveller women supporting each other as leaders, working with one focus, working strategically for equality, for their community’s health, accommodation, living conditions, education and to be free from discrimination. To have equal rights as a community and be accepted as a people with their own ethnicity and culture. Brigid wants her children to grow up to be proud of who they are, of their culture our history, stories and heritage and to never have to feel shame for being a Traveller.
