Lena learned archery and swordsmanship through extensive private lessons.
The music video for "Genesis" gives me the vibes and look of Lena when she was 15/16. Especially the parts where she's wearing the sailor jacket.
Lena was traded away as a baby and made Braniac 13's thrall for a time. She remembers bits and pieces of this experience, and still has the discs on her forehead that would appear and disappear at random during her childhood and most of her teen years. She used to cover them up with makeup because she was self-conscious about them.
Lena is not usually particularly expressive. When she emotes, it's usually for the benefit of others, though she does emote when she's feeling particularly emotional.
Lena's personality was inspired by Grimes' portrayal of Lizzy Wizzy in Cyberpunk 2077. If you watch the character during her mission, you can hear the almost monotone way she speaks while she's with V, which is how I like Lena to usually appear. Lizzy's personality appears different when she's on camera versus in private, relating to how Lena will emote more for the benefit of others. Some of Lena's catchphrases and the way she speaks is borrowed from Lizzy. And also, Lena's attitude and resentment towards love is the same as Lizzy's.
Lizzy Wizzy meeting V, inspiration for Lena's personality
Lizzy Wizzy talkshow interview, example of how Lena may change the way she presents herself on TV and purposefully emote more.
Lena's vibe was partially inspired by Grimes' music video for her song "Violence". The sort of clean mansion type appearance in the background, the glamor of her appearance, her delicate and graceful movements. I also wanted her performing on stage to be like the video, with dance routines, background dancers, wind blowing, beautiful sets, fashionable ensembles, etc.
Lena has many miscellaneous skills. She could never resist a challenge, and wanted to be a jack of all trades. That combined with the boredom in her childhood and excellent memory, she has many random talents.
When Lena was a child, she wanted the challenge, so she selected Mandarin Chinese as her second language. Once she mastered it, she learned Russian.
Because of Lena's enhanced memory, she remembers playing in the Whitehouse as a toddler, back when her father was President.
