Lemonise are an eclectic four-piece band from Sydney’s Inner West presenting Yidaki (didgeridoo) – infused psychedelic rock. Fronted by First Nations songwriter Jake Magi alongside guitarist Maya Riv, bassist Gene Griffin and drummer Morgan Monk, Lemonise presents earthy riffs and bucolic rhythms inspired by the tranquillity of the NSW South Coast. The band craft a sound that can be likened to artists such as King Stingray, Mako Road and Velvet Trip.

The band formed towards the end of 2022 in Maya’s last year of highschool through a casual jam session at a thrift store (Recycletastic) on Enmore Road. Musical chemistry revealed itself undeniably clear that night, and Jake and Maya began to play in small venues all around Sydney multiple times a week - at open mics, small local shows and at university. Later on, Morgan and Gene (drummer and bassist) joined the band and they took off in the local scene. All members of the band are university students studying music; 3 of them at the Sydney Conservatorium, and are passionate and active members of their local music community. Lemonise presents self-produced, raw and real tracks and an energetic live show that is visually and sonically unmistakably unique.

In 2025 Lemonise played a sold-out headline show at the Trocadero Room in Sydney this February, performed at Yours and Owls in March and are awaiting an exciting year of releases. Their music is currently featured on Spotify's editorial playlists Original Storytellers and Big Ancestor Energy.

Lemonise have played on lineups with artists such as Pacific Avenue, Mahalia Barnes, Mallrat, Hockey Dad, Annie Hamilton, Crocodylus, San Cisco, Babe Rainbow, Cheeky Leash, Camino Gold, Salt and Steel, Ripple Effect Band, merci, mercy and Suzi
