Third Set

29th September 2026  I finished watching, again, an interesting and sometimes excellent The Bourne Supremacy, starring Matt Damon. With a highly competent director and many bits of quality acting. Occasional screenplay oddities, with some foolish or distracting or time wasting content. The previous Bourne movie also has some but never mind... Overall, however, pretty good results!

I can't say which movie set will include this Supremacy. Not the third one and I have a stack of 10 movies for that, without much Damon material. Assuming that The Bourne Identity comes before Supremacy, well, set five or set six are quite likely to be hosts.

There are some Russian words, spoken early in Supremacy and Jason Bourne visits Moscow much later. I was also there over 30 years ago and do have some slight interest to return before I reach around 80 years old. I had some Russian Language lessons during my time at secondary school. The interest for me was because of quite strong science activities taking place in Russia. Nothing social or political was in my mind.

Movie #21  All That Jazz. A classic and deeply human but also controversial music and dance outing. External clip about some auditions

And a second clip from a movie in a later set here, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones and team She was appointed a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2010, for her film and humanitarian work.

Movie #28  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. Official preview clip.

Movie #29  Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Unwrapped copies for part two.

Movie #30  Man of Steel. Excellent and fairly modern Superman overview, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams and several more. Directed by Zack Snyder.

Movie #35  The Imitation Game, starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley. Based on some wartime history.

Movie #36  The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. Final movie of three, based largely on the book The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien, together with some related Tolkien material. Acting as part of a prequel to the classic and much appreciated Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. About the related Hobbit movies part one and part two, I might not have them as shrink-wrapped copies.

Movie #37  Mamma Mia! The Movie. A mildly romantic musical but in life and not on a stage. Music based on songs from ABBA. Numerous stars, including Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.

Movie #38  The Mayor of Casterbridge. Based on a novel by Thomas Hardy. A BBC social classic, from a seven part series. Almost six hours of running time. I might watch it myself. Currently wrapped...

Fifth Set

Movie #41  Annie, from 1982. Based on a stage musical about a young orphan girl in New York City.

Movie #42  Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Competent Chinese Martial Arts drama, with several stars and winning many awards.

Movie #43  Fast and Furious 7. I am not a member of any AI-based Greek website, which offers reliable commercial guidance on how to use words ending in 'isma' or about how to look or to sound like an acting star from England. The movie director here apparently hid or the producers mislaid a dictionary. And so they all left out an 'h' from car-something, whilst studying and approving numerous drafts of the screenplay.

Movie #44  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. Second excellent Marvel Studio offering.

Movie #45  The Help. Popular and comedyish drama, about some Southern USA writing projects and established social expectations, from a best selling book. Many stars in a large cast and a couple of awards.

Movie #56  The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. The plot starts to deepen and accelerate. Many stars and awards again.

Movie #57  The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. Peter Jackson as Director and full of stars. Widely considered as genius production work.

Movie #58  Miracle on 34th Street, from 1947. Classic Christmas comedy-drama about Santa Claus, who was working in New York City.

Movie #59  Miracle on 34th Street, from 1994. Classic Christmas comedy-drama about Santa Claus, who was again working in New York City. Some changes were made to the plot from 1947.

Movie #60  Rise of the Planet of the Apes, from 2011. A science fiction action film. Not by any means the only apes related production. And not regarded as close to the best or as close to the worst. One competently made external trailer

Seventh Set  likely The Bourne Supremacy

Movie #61   Before I go to Sleep, starring Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong. Psychological drama, based on a best-seller book.

Movie #62  The Bodyguard, starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston. Quality action drama, with extreme personal threats and challenges. Some musical themes.

Movie #64  The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, from 2008. A deep and human wartime drama. Life seen through various eyes and ages, based on a best-seller book. Controversial on many aspects. Parental Guidance is probably more appropriate than its public 12+ designation.

Movie #66  Hero. Chinese Martial Arts drama. Well received and critically acclaimed, with many awards.

Movie #69  The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Comedy starring Judy Dench, Richard Gere and more.

Movie #70  Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig as James Bond and Judy Dench.

Eighth Set  likely The Bourne Ultimatum. Extreme Ways is still playing on a DVD. A brilliant movie production. Maybe better movies exist but hard to bring any to mind... 5th October 2026.  Now, shortly after a DVD of Star Trek, directed and produced by J.J. Abrams. The titles are still running. What to say, except that it was a brilliant movie? 6th October 2026 update. Time to say more.

Quite straightforward, even if controversial. Roughly two billion people, or slightly more, believe in reincarnation as an aspect of life. The topic is rarely discussed from a scientific perspective and we should be aware, in the context, that animal reincarnation, following that of other life forms, is a most likely cause or the chosen instrument for the evolution of consciousness to human level.

So, J.J. Abrams. Who might he have been before? He is a pretty smart cookie, if that is not any form of criticism. And the answer is William Shakespeare. Didn't you read that, all over the internet? OK, no, you didn't... And currently, who is the latest form of William Blake? No prizes.
