Young People’s Studios Summer Art Camp Internship Curriculum Development and Supervision
In addition to supervising and assisting faculty and undergraduate teaching interns, my co-coordinator and I designed a program for interns placed with us through the Bloomberg Program, which matched Baltimore City high school students with arts organizations for summer work experience. In order to provide the most meaningful and authentic experience possible, we designed a developmentally and contextually appropriate introduction to teaching art “crash course” that culminated in interns teaching a solo lesson with the learners in the camp aftercare program. We supervised, observed, and provided feedback to the interns throughout the course of their placement.
