This block is one of the more simpler blocks in the Action tab, compared to the move steering and move tank blocks. This block does pretty much exactly what its name suggests, controlling the display on the EV3 Brick. You can print images, text, shapes and more to the display with the help of this block.
When you drag the display block to the screen it should look like this:
There are several main components to this block, and the exact number of components depends on what option is selected from the drop-down menu. The drop-down menu is the button with the folder icon in the middle.
When you mouse over this spot, it will turn blue and say "Image". This tells you what mode the block is set to. There are four modes: Text, Shapes, Image, and Reset Screen. These options tell the EV3's display what to do when the program is run. Each option prints something completely different on the display, and what's printed all depends on what option is pressed.
