This Privacy Policy describes how Legitimacy ("the Game," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use our iOS and macOS application. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our practices.
The short version: Legitimacy does not collect, store, transmit, or share any of your personal data outside of Apple's default analytics. The Game has no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of its own.
We collect no information.
Legitimacy is a fully offline game that:
Does not require an internet connection
Does not have user accounts or registration
Does not include analytics or tracking software
Does not contain advertising
Does not operate any servers or backend infrastructure
Does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data
All possible game data (such as settings) is stored locally on your device and never leaves it.
Legitimacy is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple may collect certain information as part of the download and update process, including but not limited to:
Download history
Device identifiers
Performance and crash data (if you have opted in)
GameCenter information, such as which achievements you have unlocked
This data collection is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. We do not have access to any personally identifiable information Apple may collect. For more information about Apple's data practices, please review Apple's Privacy Policy.
Legitimacy does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). The Game complies with:
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) in the United States
The Age Appropriate Design Code in the United Kingdom
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provisions regarding children in the European Union
Because we collect no data outside of the App Store's default basic analytics, there is no risk of children's information being collected or misused.
Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection regarding your personal data. Because Legitimacy collects no personal data, there is simply no data for us to access, correct, delete, or provide to you.
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and California Privacy Rights Act, California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. We confirm that Legitimacy:
Does not sell your personal information
Does not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising
Does not collect sensitive personal information
Does not use or disclose any personal information for purposes beyond what is disclosed in this policy
Because we collect no personal information, there is no data to access, delete, or opt out of selling.
Regardless of your location, Legitimacy's privacy practices remain the same: we do not collect any of your data. This applies whether you are located in:
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or other U.S. states with privacy laws
Brazil
Canada
Australia
Or any other jurisdiction
Because Legitimacy does not collect, transmit, or store any user data on external servers, there is no data to secure on our end. Any game data stored locally on your device is protected by your device's built-in security features, and any data automatically shared with Apple is protected by Apple's security systems.
Legitimacy does not integrate any third-party services, SDKs, or APIs that collect user data. There are no:
Analytics services
Advertising networks
Social media integrations
Cloud services
Crash reporting tools (beyond what Apple provides at the system level)
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our practices.
If we ever change our data practices to collect personal information, we will provide prominent notice and obtain consent where required by law before any such collection begins.
