Membership and Structure
The organization is modeled after the Roman Army and uses Latin terminology for its hierarchy.
Levels of Government:
Concilium Legionis Mariae: The supreme governing body based in Dublin.
Senatus: Governs a country or large region.
Regia, Comitium, and Curia: Intermediate levels managing various local groups.
Praesidium: The basic unit, typically based in a single parish.
Types of Members:
Active Members: Must attend a weekly meeting and perform at least two hours of assigned apostolic work weekly.
Auxiliary Members: Support the Legion through a daily service of prayer, including the Rosary and the Legion's "Tessera" prayers.
Higher Grades: Include Praetorians (active members with additional prayer obligations) and Adjutorians (auxiliary members with additional daily Mass and Office requirements).
