I was hesitant at first to join the online course because I have very limited skills in IT navigation/operation. Getting activities done from Lessons 1 to 9, is a great feat on my part, considering my IT handicap plus the other office tasks that I also have to attend to.
The online course on Creating Local Economic Development (LED) Champions: Refocusing Local Economy in Times of Health Emergency has been a great help in my line of work as LEDIPO, especially since our office mandate has been expanded and widened through DILG Memo Circular 2020-167, in the facilitation and coordination of local economic development and investment promotion advocacies in Legazpi City. This is a crucial undertaking to create and mobilize a capacitated structure to organize all LED programs and projects in our locality.
In essence, the online course has reminded everyone that “Teamwork makes the dream work!” The COVID-19 pandemic has created a spirit of collaboration or collaborative partnerships between LGUS, NGOs/CSOs, and the business community, that provided positive impact results on minimizing the spread of the virus. The journey to inclusive and sustainable programs/projects/activities is successful if collective actions are in place.
