About: Greetings! I am Chintan Jansari, a PhD student at Legato team, specializing in Mechanics and computational aspects. My academic journey includes a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Design) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (India) and a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from L.D. College of Engineering, Gujarat Technological University (India).
My research interests revolve around Structural Optimization and Advanced Finite Element Methods. For my current PhD project, I delve into the fascinating world of shape and topology optimization to design advanced thermal metamaterials capable of actively controlling and manipulating heat flow. I am particularly intrigued by metamaterials and their ability to achieve invisibility cloaking. Additionally, I have worked with finite elasticity, acoustics, and fracture mechanics problems through master's theses and collaborative projects. I hold experience in several advanced FEMs, including XFEM, SFEM, IGA, SBIGA, PFEM, and PFM.
Collaboration is central to my research approach, and I actively engage with researchers from Dalian University of Technology, the I2M laboratory, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, and the University of New South Wales, fostering a dynamic and inclusive research environment. Beyond my research, I am passionate about teaching and mentoring, actively seeking opportunities as a teaching assistant for courses including Mathematics - I, Engineering Drawing, Materials and Design, Finite Element Method for Engineers, Machine Design Lab, and Metallography Lab during both my master’s and Ph.D. studies.
Currently, I serve as the Deputy Chair of the Doctoral Candidate Council and Doctorate Candidate Representative of the Doctoral Programme in Computational Science. In the past, I held the role of Vice President of the Indian Students Association Luxembourg.
