Thin film flow refers to the behaviour of a thin layer of fluid that spreads, coats or flows over a solid surface. It is observed in a range of applications, from biomedical to automotive. Our project covers the development of bespoke numerical methods for several problems related to thin film flow modelling
Modelling partially wetted surfaces, and the formation, evolution and break-up of thin fluid films.
Modelling solidification of thin fluid films, especially in the context of the icing on aircraft wings.
Coupling thin film flow with bulk fluid flow.
