About:
Aravind Kadhambariyil has been working on a collaboration project between SnT and the industry, SISTO Armaturen SA. His research focuses on developing computational models to study the effect of thermal aging history on the fracture of rubber. The project also takes on real-world significance due to his collaboration with the industrial partner SISTO. Thanks to their vast experimental facility, Aravind is also able to experimentally test all developed hypotheses, thereby confronting real and complex engineering problems and also gain valuable experience in applied research.
Prior to joining the team in July 2021, Aravind completed his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from LBS College of Engineering, India, his masters in Computational Materials Science from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany, and subsequently earned his master's thesis from Robert BOSCH GmbH. Besides his primary research endeavors, Aravind has a strong passion for learning music, philosophy and sports, adding a well-rounded touch to his pursuits in life.
