In this section, I present some of the research projects in which I participated as a co-researcher. These projects are closely aligned with my doctoral dissertation and my research interests, with a primary focus on seamlessly integrating AI-based educational technology to enhance English teaching and learning in the realm of Computer-Assisted Language Learning (CALL).

My role in this project:
I contributed to the development of "AI PengTalk" by providing instructional design expertise, guiding the organization of content, and conducting beta testing with my students and co-teachers.
After launching the program, I conducted lectures to promote it and participated in media broadcasts. [Video clip]
To assess the program's overall impact, I served as a co-researcher, designing a survey, collecting and analyzing nationwide data, and authoring and publishing a research report.
Project 2
A Development of Instructional Methods Incorporating Voice Conversational Processing Technology for Teaching English as a Foreign Language (2020.04.-2020.12.)
Funded by the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI)
Research Report: [PDF download] (Written in Korean)
Subsequently published journal paper: [PDF download] (Written in Korean with English abstract)
My role in this project:
I designed and implemented a classroom-based experimental course utilizing the "In-Class" program, which incorporates voice conversational processing technology developed by ETRI.
I collected empirical data, analyzed and interpreted it, and documented research findings and implications.
Based on the results, I shared my thoughts with the research team, co-constructed the instructional methods; and wrote the methods, results, discussions, and implications section of the research report.
Project 1
Development and Application of an AI-Based Conversational Agent App for Elementary English Learning (2019.04.-2019.12.)
Funded by Seoul Education Research & Information Institute (SERII)
Research Report: [PDF download] (Written in Korean)
Subsequently published journal paper: [PDF download] (Written in Korean with English abstract)
My role in this project:
Our research team developed an application called "SUDA", an AI-based conversational agent for elementary English learning. During this process, I collaborated closely with technicians and co-researchers to ensure the app's user-friendliness and its positive impact on learning experiences.
I designed and conducted experimental classes to assess the app's effectiveness in classroom-based English-speaking learning.
I collected empirical data, analyzed and interpreted it, and authored the results, discussions, and educational implications sections of the research report, which I subsequently published.
