Every Afro Girl created features a moving quote surrounded by real dried flowers, crystal chips, and the occasional butterfly.
Bottlecaps are one of my favorite decor mediums. They are all so unique and inspiring. I collect them from various sources, mostly out in the wild.
Collecting flowers from around the city is one of my favorite pass-times. I love drying and pressing them, and preserving their beauty permanently.
Personalized rolling trays include printed images, unique patterns, quotes, and slots for convenient rolling.
One-of-a-kind ashtrays can be a functional statement piece. Each ashtray has four slots for holding your burning herb of choice, and are easy to clean.
Incense burners are my most popular products. I love using them to show off many decor mediums such as flowers, alcohol ink, and glow-in-the-dark pigment.
Mixing different mediums used to be a challenge, until I discovered I could put almost anything on canvas. The artwork displayed here is made on canvas, with a painted acrylic backdrop, and washi tape accents. The cat is made with a layered vinyl decal, and the whole canvas is coated with resin for preservation. Eye pins are screwed into the sides and bottom to act as jewelry holders. This piece is the first of its kind I've made, and I can't wait to improve it.

I enjoy working with recycled and easily collectable materials. Bottlecaps are a particular favorite, as they are easy to find and fun to gather. Turning trash into treasure is a big part of my art - I am always looking for alternative ways to reuse what would eventually be landfill. Commissioners can request specific bottlecaps, such as the Banquet Bottlecap Set pictured above. I will always love working with materials that hold sentimental value.
I get most of my recycled materials from thrift stores such as Upcycle (Virginia) and various art swaps/giveaways. I am also an avid user of BuyNothing, a community item sharing app that connects you to people looking to give items away for free. I believe that it is everyone's responsibility to reduce waste in order to bring our Earth back to health. I do what I can to not waste art supplies, even if it means learning a new technique.
Bottlecaps, coffee beans, dying flowers, beads, canvas, plants...I will find a way to bring new life to anything.
Preserving nature's beauty has become one of my favorite pastimes. I often find insects when I'm out and about, and always feel a strong emotinal connection to them. I would never deliberately kill anything to use in my work, but I am fortunate to have a consistent natural supply in my area. Cicada season in Maryland of 2020 was a fabulous time for me, as I was able to collect a lot of cicadas and wings individually. I also have friends and family who keep me in ,ind whenever they come across a cool insect. I always treat my bugs with care during the art process, as every one of them is unique and valuable.
Digital art was my main medium until I found resin. I still love to play around with new colors, techniques, and styles when I have the time. As a child, I wanted to be an animator. I took animation classes in high school, and even went to college for it (COVID unfortunately cut that path short). Now, I try to incorporate the skills I learned in my new hobbies and crafts. I have some new large projects in the works that I cannot wait to present.

Halloween is my favorite holiday. These incense burners each have their own spooky themes. Ghost features an orange to white gradient that drapes like a ghost's sheet. Witch's Brew contains a bubbly green to transparent black gradient and chunky black glitter, representing a boiling cauldron. Vampire has black and white swirls intertwined with blood red ink. Each glow in the dark (which feels somewhat mandatory for Halloween creations).
These holiday tree ornaments are definitely some of my best work for the winter season. The backdrop of each ornament has a holographic shine that intensifies under colorful holiday lights. The first design features a golden deer frolicking amongst the snow with a red boarder. The second design depicts a moonlit landscape of forest below a snowy night sky.
Wesley (he/they) is a self-taught artist of many mediums. Resin, acrylic paint, beads, and digital art have been his particular favorites. Inspiration struck in elementary school, when he started creating artwork with acrylic paint and fabric paint pens. His early subjects were usually family/friends, animals, and nature. The spark soon evolved into a bonfire, and he started to pick up any medium he could get his hands on. Wesley started an Etsy in early high school, and worked his way up to appearing at various art markets and festivals. He quickly learned that he much preferred an in-person interaction with his clients rather than online.
Besides creating art, Lee loves to learn about animation, tend to their at-home jungle of houseplants (Tradescantias are their fave), obsess over raccoons, discover new music, and spend time with friends and family.
Currently the only social media they use is Instagram and Tiktok, both under the name leerichiecreations.
