PROMPTS FOR EXPOSITORY WRITING

Pick a prompt from the list. Then, brainstorm some ideas, make a planner (try to add supporting details) and then write a paragraph.


  1. Think of your most valued possession. Explain why it is so important to you.

  3. Think about a time when you did something that you didn’t want to do. Explain why you did it anyway.

  10. Explain why it is important to eat healthy foods.

  11. Explain why you shouldn’t have too many sweets or snacks.

  12. Think of something your parents always tell you and explain why it is or isn’t true.

Informational Writing

INFORMATIONAL WRITING:

Lynzee had a great writing idea. Pick an animal that you want to learn more about. Do some internet research or read a book on Epic. Take 2 column notes.

*Write a planner with a topic sentence, 3 details with supporting details and a conclusion.

*Then, write your paragraph.

*Have someone edit your paragraph and rewrite it, for the final copy.

*Draw a picture.

*If you want to look on Pinterest to find a creative art project for your animal.

*Send me a picture of your final project!
