How do developing embryos fill gaps in epithelial tissues in various natural (e.g., tissue closure) and induced (e.g., wound healing) situations?
To what extent are there common or different strategies in these various situations?
Aims
By seeking the mechanism of filling gaps by investigating each cellular event and function of relevant genes, we will ultimately like to apply the knowledge gained to find strategies to promote wound healing and regeneration.
