Advancing precision radiation therapy through MRI-guided and adaptive techniques to improve targeting and reduce treatment-related toxicity.
Improving outcomes in esophageal and gastrointestinal cancers through clinical studies, prognostic research, and optimization of multimodality treatments.
Leveraging datasets, radiomics, and machine learning to personalize treatment, enhance decision-making, and translate innovation into clinical practice.
Dr. Sangjune Laurence Lee is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Oncology at the Cumming School of Medicine and a Radiation Oncologist at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre. He is a member of the Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Institute and serves as Fellowship Director in Radiation Oncology with Alberta Health Services.
Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate training in electrical engineering at the University of Waterloo, followed by a master’s degree in biomedical engineering at Johns Hopkins University and a medical degree at the University of Toronto. He completed his residency in radiation oncology in Toronto and pursued fellowship training in real-time MRI-guided radiotherapy at the University of Wisconsin.
His clinical practice focuses on gastrointestinal and breast cancers. His research centers on MRI-guided radiotherapy, clinical outcomes, and data-driven approaches such as machine learning and radiomics. His work aims to improve treatment precision, personalize therapy, and advance patient outcomes through both technical innovation and multi-institutional clinical research.
We welcome students, trainees, and clinical or research collaborators who are interested in advancing precision radiation oncology.
Our group offers opportunities to contribute to projects in MRI-guided radiotherapy, clinical outcomes research, and data-driven cancer care.
